Ken-inatractor, a little about me

So, I'm Ken. Ken-inatractor. I'm not always "in a tractor" but I generally do spend some time there every day. In the winter, I feed cows, calve them in the spring, and then send them to pasture. Over the summer, I spend some time cultivating, seeding crops, making hay, (while the sun shines) and harvesting. Some days, I can be in that seat for 16 hours. In the winter, not so much, maybe a couple. When I'm in there, the radio is my friend. I have a lot of time by myself to think. That's where this blog comes in. It's supposed to be an outlet of sorts for me to let you in on what's going on in my head. Not that there's any sort of ground breaking revelation going on in there, just sometimes, a different point of view.
I am 43 years old when this blog begins, I'm a husband, and a dad to three boys. I'm not the best at either, but I try hard. Something I've taken up recently, is to get my licence to drive a school bus. I did this originally because i was following my older boys around on high school basketball trips anyways, so I decided to volunteer to drive the team. I wish I would have done this sooner because its a lot of fun and the kids are generally pretty good. I've been doing field trips with my youngest sons' grade and recently have started doing grades that I don't have any kids in at all. I always have a good time and have yet to clean up a car sick moment. Bonus!

Anyways, I'm going to try to add something most weekdays. Sometimes it might be harder when I'm "in the field" but I'll do my best....always.

  1. Ken, it's pretty great to find a fellow Albertan in my bloggy mix. I've taken Vancouver for my home since '94, but I grew up on an actual homestead a few hours north of you.

    1. I'm glad we have something in common. It is indeed nice when there's someone who know what i'm talking about as i bumble along here. :)

  2. Saskatchewan boy here, although I've been in mainland China for the past 8 years or so. Found your blog by way of the Dudes over at Dude Write. I see I've got a hundred and some posts to read here. I look forward to them.

  3. Just stopped by to say Happy Birthday!
