#90. or, The Kreativ Blogger Award

I seem to be falling more and more behind on my posting lately. I know that i've apologized for that in the past but really, it still bothers me. I'm spread a little thin these days. (occupationally, not physically)

Something that i've been anxious to take care of, is that my friend Carrie at Hammock in the Honeysuckle, has graciously bestowed another blogger award on me. That's 2 this month and it couldn't please me more to be recognized by fellow bloggers. Thank you Carrie!

I can now proudly say that i am the recipient of the Kreativ Blogger Award!

However, to actually claim this award as your own, there are a few rules that must be  kept. (otherwise, by the spelling of Kreativ, i think the Russian mafia will come to your house, tie you to the bed and tickle the bottoms of your feet with a feather until you pee!......*shudder!*)

  THE RULES:
  1. Thank and link back to the awarding blog.
  2. Answer seven questions.
  3. Provide 10 random factoids about yourself.
  4. Hand the award on to 7 deserving others.
Alrighty then, with number one out of the way, it's on to the seven questions:

#1. What is your favorite song?

I've been thinking about this a while and i can't name just one favorite song. I like music so much and my mood and tastes change so wildly from day to day, it almost depends on the minute that you ask me. I have everything from instrumental to rap and everything in between on my ipod. But i have to add a song here, so i think i will add a song that goes along with the "in the tractor" theme.

#2.  What's your favorite desert?

Sex in a pan.........because i like to say, "sex in a pan!"

#3. What do you do when you are upset?
I put a lot of effort into not getting really upset. Most of the time, i bury it. I know that's not all that healthy for a person. Occasionally though, i will do some yelling but i don't like, "yelling me" all that much.

#4. Which is your favorite pet?
I love dogs. In particular, our Lab dogs. If i had to choose one of them, it would have to be our Yellow Lab, Tuke......he's my boy.

WTF?
#5. Which do you prefer, White or Whole Wheat?
I grew up eating white bread, i thought it was the best there was. My wife introduced me to whole wheat bread and now, if i have a white bread sandwich, it just tastes awful.

#6. What is your your biggest fear?
To fail.

#7. What is your attitude mostly?
i think i'm pretty laid back?  Sometimes i'm down and sometimes i'm up. If i can keep it somewhere in the middle, i'm happy.

OK, 10 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME!

About 20 years ago, i had a mullet.  (business in the front, party in the back!)

I've been in the hospital because i threw my back out so badly, i had to be carried there.

I can draw a little bit.

I have never, that i'm aware of, broken a bone in my body.

The first time i was ever drunk was at my high school graduation, I was 17.

My first vehicle was a 69 Ford pick-up that took me 2 years to rebuild.

Once, my wife left me in a camp shelter at the town park, because i was so drunk, she was worried that i was going to hurl in our neighbor's van.

The first time i held my wife's hand, was on a beach. (to be clear, it was well before she was my wife.)

The only team sport that i was ever a member of was on a men's curling team.

The first time i ever saw a birth, was a calf being born and i was most likely younger that 5 years old.

.....AND TO PASS THE AWARD ON TO 7 DESERVED PARTICIPANTS.
*** there is so many wonderful blogs out there that choosing these cause me a great deal of concern. In the end, i tried to go with the smaller ones that as far as i can tell, are not showing the Kreativ Blogger badge yet. Also, as a new and small blogger myself, the reward of being noticed for these type of things help to confirm that people out there are actually taking an interest in your stuff. **

............and so, i dub thee, the grand title of, KREATIV BLOGGERS! Now go.....go unto the world and spread the joy!  :)

  1. Thank you! :-) I was already here listening to your song when I saw your message on my blog. I love awards lol... and this is one I haven't received yet, so thank you again.

I have a question for you - but if it's too personal then you can leave of answering it :-)

Just wondering when you met your wife? And how long were you dating before you married? (It's all the fault of that holding hands on the beach fact.... it got my curiosity going!)

    1. We were together for about 3 years before we got married. She knows exactly. This is going to sound bad, but we met at a bar.

      Anniversary coming up shortly! :)

    2. Fun! And don't let that Anniversary go by without telling us about it. Why would meeting at a bar sound bad? Sounds exciting to me! :)

    3. Some people don't think the bar is a very good place to find a partner. (for more than just one night)

    4. Meh. Some people are just some people ;-)... obviously worked out very well for you!

  2. Thanks Ken! So totally unexpected and awesome.

I was just trying to figure out how to make my blog more visually appealing - you've got me off to a good start. :)

  3. Congrats on another award! And don't feel bad about not posting or commenting as much. Life trumps blogging! When blogging gets to be more like a chore than a hobby it is no longer fun. So just live life, have fun! We will still be here when you do post something.

    1. Thank you Dan.

I just wish that all the time between post would allow my head to refill with great post ideas......not so much. :)

  4. This was a fun read, and the award was truly deserved, your posts, and the way you express things are clever and entertaining! Now PLEASE don't let yourself start to feel the pressure of not blogging enough or getting around enough to read and comment. If you do, you will begin to dislike the whole experience and see it as one more daily chore to be done. Blog from the head and heart, which means you do it when the spirit moves you, and when the day or night permits you time. Everyone here knows this will be your busy season, so we won't fuss if you don't make daily appearances, but will be looking forward to when your next post appears! Have fun with it, no pressure!

    1. Thank you Josie, i do hear what you and Dan are saying. I just seem to be in the middle of this whole new thing of actually having people come looking to see what's going on here and i do so hate to disappoint anyone. As soon as i can settle into a routine, i think it will be a little easier. :)

  5. Thanks my man! I'm so new to this whole blogging thing that when I get an award I get all "Aw shucks, me?" having had to shut down my first blog, and start all over again has been hard. I think I'm close to hitting my stride.
I love reading your blog. Like I said before it reminds me of my family, so guess that makes you family! After reading this post (I liked it very much by the way) we have a lot in common. Funny how the more time that goes by and the longer you read someone's blog, that you liked from the very beginning, you realize that. It's like the universe leads us to people in bloggy world to find good friends. And I consider you one of mine.
Thanx for this award, I promise not to disappoint.
Oh and one more thing, stop beating yourself up for the down tic in postings. It's that time of the year. We all understand. We are here when you write and understand when you don't.
And one more thing, which anniversary will this be?

    1. You're so very welcome. I think that i may have visited your old blog a time or two, I've been visiting this new one for a bit before i offered any comments. I'll keep coming back, that's for sure.

Pretty happy about being in the family! And pleased that i can write something that you enjoy, you're right, it's funny how we all seem to find each other. :)

  8. Congratulations!! You picked some great bloggers :) Well deserved award from and for you!!

What on earth is sex in a pan and can you please spread the word about bread because omfg my ex/not ex eats white bread with miracle whip while I eat whole grain flax seed bread with bean sprouts and Dijon mustard.

As he says, ladies love their country boys.

But that doesn't mean it's ok to eat like a wildebeest.

    1. Why thank you Miss Posh. I guess if a fellow is going to put twigs between your toes and paint your nails while you read, you might have to afford the fellow some white bread and mayo? :)

Sex in a pan, It's nothing fancy. Just a layer of graham crumbs, layer of chocolate pudding, layer of butterscotch pudding, layer of vanilla pudding, and whipped cream on top. This is a pretty simple version, i suspect there is probably a much more complicated one out there.

    2. Wow. Sex in a Pan sounds orgasmic!

  9. KEN!! So good to 'see' you!! :) Trust me when I say, I completely understand when there are times when the space between posts grows longer. I do that from time to time as well, either by choice or necessity. BUT I agree with Squirrel Nuts, it's interesting how some people just seem to be meant to meet, and you, I believe, are one of those to me. So when you DO post, it's like sitting down with that cup of coffee to share life and catch up. I quite like it!

Just have to interject about some of your facts/questions:

Question #1 - PERFECT song for your blog!

Question #3 - love your answer, but it reminded me that I LOOOOOOOVE the sound of glass breaking when I'm upset...good thing I recycle. :)

Question #4 - Tuke is THE HANDSOMEST DOG EVER

    Facts about you -
You must've been an 80's kid...TOTALLY AWESOME! ME TOO!

Want to see one of your drawings!! Do one and take a picture!!

I've never broken a bone either (knock on wood)

Way cool to know someone who has actually participated in the sport of curling!

That was fun to read and learn a little more about you!

    1. I agree, it's a funny thing how we all come together here.

I'm happy i can provide that for you. It never ceases to amaze me that people find what i write here worth coming back for.

I wish i drew more. I'm just not patient enough for that right now. I think i might do a post on it though. When i first started this back last year, my artist friend Judy suggested i do a post on it as well. It's still rolling around in my head. :)

  10. Ken - thank you so much! I've been slowing down my posting routine as well. Crazy how life breaks in. Don't feel bad about it.

I'm going to have to go trolling my favorite blogs again to find some to recommend that I've not awarded before!

  11. and one more thing, I absolutely love your picture of Tuke. Cracks me up everytime I look at it. I love doing voices for animals, like what they are thinking and his expression just gets my imagination going. My grandpa had a pair of labs for hunting and herding. They were great dogs.
