#80. or, The Pish Posh Get Fit Challenge

I have two suits. The one i got when my dad died. It's a fine suit. It's a suit that i got in a hurry. It's also the suit i got when i weighed over 200 pounds.I don't really like anything about that suit at all.

My other suit is my suit of awesomeness. It's a grand suit that i got 2 years ago when my oldest son graduated. When i bought that suit i weighed in the 170's. I like that suit a lot. Except for the fact that i tried it on yesterday and i can't do the pants up.

Earlier this year we went on holidays and i wanted to be in decent shape when i went. I had a goal that i was working toward. I was exercising and i felt pretty good. Even though i didn't get to the weight that i wanted to be, i was in the lower half of the 180's. Since we got back ( mid January) i've struggled to get back in the exercising mode. Granted, we had some things happen here that left me feeling a little less exercisey but i don't really know why i never got back at it. It was too easy not to i guess. That and beers are so darned tasty.

My middle son graduates at the end of June. There's my goal. Right now i weigh 190 pounds. I figure that if i can drop 10 pounds i'll fit back into the suit of awesomeness and become a little more awesome myself in the process. Plus summer is on it's way, or, it's supposed to be anyways. It wouldn't hurt to look a little better with my shirt off either.

My friend Pish Posh is doing  The Get Fit! Challenge. Actually it's already week 8. Yesterday she extended it to the end of May. Over there, they've been talking about habit forming. I have to get back into the habit of doing some exercise. 21 days of doing something is what it takes for something to become a habit. Originally, i thought i could do this on my own but i think i might need a little help. I'm going to link up with her page, along with a lot of other bloggers and Fit back into that bitch'in suit by the end of June.

So, tomorrow morning, i'm going to do some stretching. I've got to google some exercises to work on my gut. I'm going to try to get my heart rate going every day if i can. This should be easier since tax season will be over very soon and my wife will actually be able to spend some time at home. (i plan to spend a good deal of time chasing her around the house!). 21 days from now, i expect to be an exercising machine. 60 days from now, i'm going to be AWESOME!

..........when you join the Pish Posh Get Fit Challenge, you get to post an cool badge on your page. Who doesn't like schwag! Except i have to figure out how to do that, so expect it to show up sometime soon.

  1. I have been struggling with keeping up with my exercise program P90X. It's not that I lack motivation. I am motivated. But there is a serious lack of time.

Time flies by so fast after work. Coming home and doing household chores takes up a lot of time because my house is always a mess. I'm the cook in the family so after cleaning, it's time to cook supper.

Plus I have 2 very high maintenance kids who are always interrupting and in need of something.

If only I had just 2 more hours a day to spare I wouldn't have any more excuses! I gotta get back in the game and strut my stuff!

    1. I know about the time thing. It's going to get really busy for me pretty soon so i'm certainly going to need to do some type of time management. One good thing is that my wife is trying to lose some weight as well so she's going to be back to cooking some healthier meals in the next few days. Also, i hope to get up a little earlier to do some stretching exercises in the morning. Plus, i didn't really realize the amount of time blogging and keeping up on these bloggy things i was going to need. I'm trying to work it all in and do some of it on the go from my phone. I'll make it all work somehow.

  2. Chasing your wife around the house is really the best form of exercise lol... don't do anything else!

I've started the 21 day habit forming challenge thingy today. I've added some different leg exercises to my routine and hope to keep at them until I've finally reach the weight I want to be.... the end is in sight!

I've tagged you in my latest post - I think you'll enjoy!

    1. Sometimes she even lets me catch her, so that's a whole different type of exercise! ;)

I hope if i can get back into my stretching habit over the next 21 days that i can cement that as a routine. It seems that if i do that every day, doing other types of exercises follow because i feel better.

On my way over to see what's happening at your sight right now, i'm excited! :)

  3. Pish Posh includes the cold for her badge on her blog. Copy the code and paste it into your blog post when in the HTML setting. Blogger will take care of the rest.

I have a problem exercising regularly. I get all excited to start and it never lasts more than a couple of weeks. I am not a large person, but would love to reduce the size of my gut as well. I think I need a workout buddy to hold me accountable and keep me motivated.

    1. I figured out the button thing. Thanks.

It's always nice to have someone to do something like this with to keep you motivated. If you'd be interested in a little weight loss challenge, i might take you up on that.

    2. I actually had in mind someone right beside me to yell at me and scream, "FIVE MORE! YOU CAN DO IT!" But over the internet could work, I just hadn't considered that.

      I'm in.

    3. Well, I have a meager goal of 10 pounds by the end of June. Would that be an acceptable goal?

    4. That sounds reasonable. Thank you.

    5. Great. I guess there's only one thing left to say.... FIVE MORE! YOU CAN DO IT!

    8. I need that too. I miss my martial arts coach. He was 6'8 and 350lbs. He could kill me with a quick blow. So when he said do more situps, I did em.

Funny how when he's not around I think beer? situps. beer? situps. beer? BEER.

All of us need to stop making excuses :)

    9. Morning weigh in was 223. I need to get down to 213 and have 5 weeks.

    10. There is certainly that about beer. Especially as it gets nicer out, i know i'm going to struggle with that.

Sunday morning weigh in. 187 pounds. NOW DROP AND GIVE ME 5 MORE!!!

    1. So far, so good. I always do better when i have an actual goal. I would be so happy if i could get back into that suit for the grad.

I'm planning to try to be good over the week and reward myself with a beer or two on the weekend. A 67 calorie beer of course. :)

  6. Trainer Barb approves. :)

(Just go a little easy on the beer, though!)
